Enzymes play diverse roles important in keeping one’s health. There are three major food enzymes found in our gastrointestinal tract and they are: the amylase, which breaks down starches into sugars; the lipase, which breaks down fats into fatty acids, and protease, which breaks down proteins into amino acids. Protease is also used therapeutically for digesting viruses and bacteria, and for eliminating allergies.

These enzymes are also found in many different plant foods, but the plant must be fresh and whole in order to contain live enzymes, unless it’s been specifically processed to retain the enzymes. Some foods that contain lots of enzymes include avocados, papayas, pineapples, bananas and mangos. Sprouts are one of the richest sources of enzymes. Many companies process these foods into enzyme supplements. Many pickled, or fermented foods, as well as miso paste, also contain enzymes. Unless at least 50% of your diet consists of organic, whole, raw plant foods that contain naturally occurring food enzymes, you may want to take a daily enzyme supplement for better absorption of the food you eat.

Flaxseed oil is another helpful source of healthy benefits. Flaxseed Oil is a source of for Omega-3 and omega 6 essential fatty acids.Flaxseed oil is one of the best sources for essential fatty acids, which are the basic building blocks of fats. Essential fatty acids are considered essential because they are needed for normal cell structure and function, yet our bodies do not manufacture them. They are categorized as omega-3 (n-3) and omega-6 (n-6) (the number describes the place of the first double bond in these poly-unsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs)) and are required for proper functioning of nerve cells and cell membrane walls.

All our cells are enveloped by a membrane composed mostly of essential fatty acid compounds called phospholipids, which play a major role in determining the integrity and fluidity of the membranes. The type of fat we consume determines the type of phospholipids in the cell membrane. Unfortunately, the Standard American Diet (S.A.D.) severely lacks essential fatty acids. Instead, it is high in animal fats, which are high in saturated fatty acids, cholesterol, and trans-fatty acids, also formed by chemical extraction or high-heat processing and hydrogenation of unsaturated plant oils, giving our cells the wrong ratio of fatty acids. This imbalance leads to cell membranes that contain less fluid, making it difficult for them to perform their primary function: acting as a selective barrier that regulates the passage of nutrients and wastes in and out of the cell.

Consequently, without a healthy membrane, the cells lose vital nutrients, electrolytes and their ability to hold water. They also lose their ability to communicate efficiently with other cells and respond appropriately to regulating hormones. Diminished cellular function is one of the primary causes of degenerative diseases. A diet high in animal foods, combined with improperly processed oils, puts us at great risk.

Scientific researches have shown that diets high in omega-3 fatty acids help prevent heart attacks, lower blood pressure, reduce allergies and inflammations, relieve or reverse symptoms of multiple sclerosis, offer anti-cancer properties, and may help combat a host of degenerative diseases. This is because the essential fatty acids 3 and 6 are also transformed into regulatory compounds known as prostaglandins. Prostaglandins regulate steroid production and hormone synthesis; they also regulate pressure in the eye, joints and blood vessels. Additionally, they mediate immune response, regulate bodily secretions and their viscosity, dilate or constrict blood vessels, regulate the rate at which cells divide and regulate the flow of substances in and out of cells. Furthermore prostaglandins are found to do other functions like- they transport oxygen from red blood cells to bodily tissues, regulate nerve transmission and assist in other vital functions. As you can see, essential fatty acids are, well, essential, in our diet. Yet few of us get enough of them, because most of us don’t eat foods high in essential fatty acids, and we do eat foods that diminish or neutralize them.

Antioxidants function to protect the cells in our bodies. They play an important role in living a longer and healthier life. Antioxidants protect the cells of our bodies from free radicals that can damage DNA. When DNA damage is not prevented, our own cells can replicate inappropriately and lead to many serious and life threatening diseases including coronary heart disease, cancer, premature aging, inflammatory diseases, Parkinson’s, periodontal disease, and eye diseases like cataracts. The role of antioxidants is to boost our bodily immunity against these diseases by make our muscles stronger, and keep our bones and skin in good health. Antioxidants are often found in fruits and vegetables rich in Vitamin C, Selenium, and Beta Carotene.

The cells in our body fight against free radicals introduced into our body from any number of sources from what we eat to what we breathe, like smoke and pollution in air. Free radicals are actually unstable oxygen molecules that want to oxidize. This oxidation process however can cause cancer. Free radicals can cause a number of unwanted effects such as premature aging, cancer, cataracts, a weak immune system, and heart disease. The role of these antioxidants is to neutralize these free radicals. Antioxidants pair with the free radicals. They help them change from their harmful to non-harmful state. Antioxidants too help in repairing the cell damage. Antioxidants are significant to our health.

It is important to know that antioxidants can not be created in our bodies. They come from the food that we eat, like natural substances we usually could get from eating fruits and vegetables. Antioxidants can be found in colorful fruits and vegetables. Antioxidants give these colorful fruits their characteristic color. important antioxidants are intense in the brightly colored fruits and vegetables including Spinach, Blueberries, Garlic, Brussel Sprouts, Carrots, Red Bell Peppers and Tomatoes. Dark chocolate and green tea have antioxidants too.

Antioxidants work together to maintain the cells wellness in the body. For instance, the antioxidant beta carotene will not be able to reduce the risk of cancer without the antioxidants Vitamins C, E and Selenium. The primary antioxidants are called the phytochemicals. These are the antioxidants which help our bodies repair themselves and offer us stronger immune systems.

The primary antioxidants are the Carotenoids (that include Lycopene, Lutein, Beta-Carotene), Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Selenium and Anthocyanins. Carotenoids can work by lowering the risk of certain diseases such as cancer and heart disease. An important carotenoid, beta carotene, act by keeping harmful LDL cholesterol from damaging the heart and coronary arteries. These antioxidants can even turn around the damage done by certain cancer causing cells. Antioxidant carotenoids also boost immunity. Lycopene, another carotenoid example, has been associated to a reduced risk of prostate cancer in men. Studies show that it has also been related to decreasing the risk of heart diseases. Lutein, another carotenoid, may be the primary antioxidant in preventing eye diseases and conditions such as blindness, cataracts, and other disorders of the eyes that commonly happen as a person ages. Lutein can be seen in dark leafy green vegetables. They are also found in richly colored orange and deep yellow fruits and vegetables, and in eggs.

Vitamins C and E work hand in hand in order to protect one another from oxidation. They reduce the risk of some age related diseases in human beings. Vitamin C is also associated with preventing the formation of N-nitroso compounds. These compounds are related and linked with the development of cancer from nitrates. Vitamin E is a fat soluble vitamin. It needs fat to be absorbed by our bodies. In excess, Vitamin E are stored in our fatty tissue and liver of our bodies and this can cause toxicity in some cases. Vitamin E reduces risk of age related diseases, coronary diseases, and cancer. Vitamin C is water soluble by nature. It also reduces the risk of age related diseases and also prevents cancer. They are found in citrus fruits, berries and vegetables.

Easing bodily pains yourself through acupressure is a common practice all over the world today. This ancient alternative medicine practice originated about 5000 years ago in China. It’s similar to acupuncture by principle, but the practice of acupressure does not involves needles. Pain is a common problem in the body. By the practice of this alternative method to relieve pain, all you have to do is massage the proper pressure point yourself. The key to finding pain relief is to find the right pressure point.

Acupressure points are also called potent points. These acupressure points are believed to be the places on the skin that are especially sensitive to bioelectrical impulses in the body and conduct those impulses readily. According to studies, tension concentrates around these acupressure points. When a muscle is constantly tense or in a state of spasm this results to the contraction of muscle fiber. This contraction is actually due to the secretion of lactic acid caused by fatigue, trauma, stress, chemical imbalances, or poor circulation.

As a point is pressed in the practice of acupressure, the muscle tension yields to the pressure delivered by the finger. This then leads to the enabling of the muscle fibers to elongate and relax, thereby allowing blood to flow freely, and toxins to be released and eliminated from the site. Increased circulation also brings more oxygen and other nutrients to affected areas affected. This also then increases the body’s resistance to illness and promotes a longer and healthier life.

Traditionally, Asian culture like the Chinese and the Japanese cultures, believed that these points act as junctures of special pathways that carried the human energy that the Chinese call chi. Western scientists too have discovered and proven the existence of this system of body points by using sensitive electrical devices.

The logic behind the alternative medical practice of acupressure relies on the idea that by stimulating these potent points with finger pressure, needles, or heat, endorphins, the neuro chemicals that are responsible for relieving pain, gets released. As a result, pain is then blocked. Also, the flow of blood and the flow of oxygen to the affected area is likewise increased which then causes the affected muscles to relax and encourage the healing process.

The practice of this form of ancient alternative medical healing acts by inhibiting the pain signals sent to the brain through a mild, fairly painless stimulation. By acupressure, the gates of the pain signaling system of the body are closed, thus preventing painful sensations from passing through the spinal cord of the body to the brain.

In addition relieving pain, the practice of acupressure can also help rebalance the body by dissolving tensions and stresses that keep it from functioning smoothly and that inhibit the immune system. Acupressure enables the body of a person to adapt to diverse environmental changes. They are also helpful in resisting and preventing common illnesses.

Aside from just relieving pain and preventing common illnesses, acupressure can be used to enhance many areas in our daily lives. Besides to managing stress, acupressure can be used to relieve and prevent injuries, such as sports injuries and traumas. Sports massage, technically a form of acupressure, has been widely used by athletes before and after sports events. It is used to improve muscle tone and circulation and relieve neuromuscular problems among athletes.

The Chinese people have also used acupressure as a beauty treatment. Many Chinese people use this alternative medical practice for its aesthetic benefits to improve skin condition and tone and relax the facial muscles, in order to lessen the development and appearance of facial and neck wrinkles.

Acupressure is also commonly used as a complementary treatment. It can help patients of serious diseases for example, by helping to ease some of the related pain and anxiety of the disease.

The micro-algae- spirulina, chlorella and wild blue-green algae are the most common commercial micro-algae. All three contain the highest sources of chlorophyll, protein, beta-carotene and nucleic acids of any animal or plant food, making them some of the best possible supplements you can take on a regular basis.Spirulina is a naturally digestible food that helps to protect the immune system, lower cholesterol and facilitate mineral absorption. Spirulina is high in chlorophyll, protein, beta-carotene and nucleic acids. Interestingly, the protein digestibility of spirulina is rated at 85%, versus about 20% for beef. The cell wall of spirulina is composed entirely of mucopolysaccharides. which are complex sugars interlaced with amino acids, simple sugars and sometimes protein. Mucopolysaccharides are fully digestible and help strengthen body tissues, especially the connective tissues, making them more elastic and resilient. MPs also help reinforce the tissues of the heart and guard against deterioration of the arteries.

Spirulina is a naturally digestible food who’s role in health is to protect the immune system, lower cholesterol and facilitate mineral absorption. MPs also help reinforce the tissues of the heart and guard against deterioration of the arteries.

Spirulina is packed with other nutrients, including vitamin B12, one that many believe is only available from animal foods, although some scientists dispute just how bio-available the B12 is in spirulina. It has a rich supply of the blue pigment phycocyanin, a light-harvesting pigment that has been shown to inhibit the development of cancer.

It has been reported that this amazing whole food detoxifies the liver and kidneys, builds and enriches the blood, cleanses the arteries, enhances intestinal flora, and inhibits the growth of fungi, bacteria, and various strains of yeast. A number of manufacturers make it available as a powder, capsule or tablet, and you may want to buy it less expensively in the bulk section. Just stir a heaping teaspoonful into your favorite juice drink.

Another type helpful to one’s heath is the chlorella. Chlorella contains 10 to 100 times more chlorophyll than leafy green vegetables. Chlorella is grown in controlled mediums where minerals are added to optimize it for human consumption. Its small size requires centrifuge harvesting and special processing to improve the digestibility of the tough outer wall, which makes it more expensive than spirulina. However, the cell wall binds to heavy metals, pesticides and carcinogens such as PCBs and escorts the toxins out of the body, making it a particularly valuable supplement.

Chlorella has less protein and a fraction of the beta-carotene than spirulina, but more than twice the nucleic acid and chlorophyll. Nucleic acid (RNA/DNA) in the body is responsible for cell renewal, growth and repair. Insufficient nucleic acid causes premature aging and a weakened immune system. Chlorella is also abundant in iron, zinc and vitamin A, which helps boost the immune system.

Other than the spirulina and chlorella are the wild blue-green algae. Whereas spirulina and chlorella are grown in man-made tanks, wild blue-green algae grow naturally in Upper Klamath Lake in Southern Oregon, making it a particularly unique whole food supplement. This single-celled micro-algae was first discovered over 15 years ago in one of the most diverse and rich wetland habitats in North America. It is harvested at the peak of its bloom in summer, and then quickly freeze-dried to preserve its nutritional profile and enzymatic activity. Many believe it is the “wild” nature of blue-green algae that gives it such an excellent nutritional profile. The chlorophyll content is twice as high as that of spirulina.

Aphanizomenon flos-acquae (AFA) is a nutritional powerhouse. Over 98% of its nutrients are bio-available, which means they can be used directly by the body in the same form in which they naturally occur. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins (and muscle tissue), and AFA contains all eight essential amino acids, in the correct profile for optimum absorption. AFA contains up to 68% more protein by weight than any other whole food. It also has high neuropeptide concentrations to help repair, rebuild and strengthen neurotransmitters in the brain so that neurons can communicate optimally with the rest of the body. Nearly 50% of AFA’s lipid content is the essential fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3). Omega-3 fatty acids support the immune system and build the white fatty myelin sheath on connective neural fibers in the brain. People who eat AFA on a regular basis report an overall increase in mental alertness and stamina, improved short and long-term memory, enhanced creativity and problem-solving abilities, as well as a greater sense of well being. AFA has a full spectrum of naturally chelated minerals and trace minerals, as well as a wide range of vitamins. One gram of wild blue-green algae supplies 48% of the recommended daily requirement of Vitamin B1 (beta-carotene), 133% of Vitamin B12 and significant amounts of all the B complex vitamins. The protein rich cell wall of AFA is a source of glycogen, used by the liver for energy, which is one reason people often report an increase in energy after adding it to their daily diet.

This article tells about the importance of antioxidants and their health benefits to the human body. News about antioxidants and their importance to good health and proper nutrition are commonly seen on the television, or on the radios. Antioxidants, according to studies and researches done by scientists, have revealed hopes from preventing heart disease to slowing the degeneration of the eyes and brain.

Health is very important to everyone, and the benefits of antioxidants have been an important to many peoples maintenance of health. It is explained that antioxidants become effective because of their ability to neutralize a group of highly reactive, highly destructive compounds. These compounds are known as free radicals.

The production of free radicals is actually a normal process of the body. The compounds free radicals are normally neutralized by the body’s natural defense system, making them harmless to the body.It is of note however, that anything that weakens the body’s natural defenses could likewise weaken its capability to fight off these said free radicals. The weakening agents mentioned would include factors such as environmental pollution, excess UV radiation and even excessive consumption of alcohol.

At times that free radicals are not appropriately neutralized, the body is left vulnerable to damage. It is seen in studies that these free radicals can also damage the structure and function of microscopic cells in the body. It has also been found that free radicals may contribute to the aging process and may even have a significant role in many illnesses, including serious health conditions like cancer and heart disease.

Health practitioners often tell that while vitamin supplements containing antioxidants are actually important and beneficial to one’s health, there is no substitute for a healthy diet. It is estimated that foods contain more than 4,000 compounds that have antioxidant qualities. They explain that by eating a healthy diet, we can always make use of these antioxidant properties for our health maintenance and prevention of diseases. In addition to the well known antioxidants like vitamin C and vitamin E, healthy foods like fruits, vegetables and whole grains also contain lots of lesser antioxidants. Some scientists are discovering now the vital role these lesser known antioxidants in keeping the human body healthy.

Some of the dietary sources for the major antioxidant vitamins include vitamin C, vitamin E, beta carotene and selenium. Vitamin C is perhaps the most studied of all the antioxidant vitamins. It is also known as ascorbic acid. This said vitamin is a water soluble vitamin. They are actually found in all bodily fluids. Vitamin C is believed to be one of the human body’s first lines of defense against many types of opportunistic infections and common bodily diseases. Since vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin, it is not stored in the body. Thus, it must be consumed in proper amounts every day. Good dietary sources of vitamin C include citrus fruits. Common citrus fruits are oranges and grapefruits, strawberries, and vegetables like green peppers, broccoli, cabbage and potatoes.

Vitamin E is another major antioxidant vitamin. It is called a fat soluble vitamin. Vitamin E is stored in the liver and other tissues of the body. The said vitamin has been studied for its health benefits like delaying the aging process. They are also helpful to common conditions like in healing of a sunburn. Vitamin E is considered an important antioxidant. It is highly stressed that our diet must contain sufficient amounts of vitamin E for health reasons. Good dietary sources of this important nutrient include wheat germ, nuts, seeds, whole grains, vegetable oil, fish liver oil and green leafy veggies.

Beta carotene is another good antioxidant source. It is the nutrient that gives flamingos their distinctive pink color. This antioxidant source beta-carotene is the most widely studied of over 600 carotenoids that have been discovered. The role of beta-carotene in nature is actually to protect the skins of dark green, yellow and orange fruits from the damaging effects of the sun. Many scientists consider that beta-carotene plays a similar caring role in the human body. Sources of beta-carotene in the diet include such foods and vegetables like carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, broccoli, tomatoes, collard greens, kale, cantaloupe, peaches and apricots.

Another healthy antioxidant source is selenium. It is one of the most important minerals in a person’s healthy diet. Selenium has been studied for its ability to prevent cell damage in the body. Scientists see this ability to protect cells from damage as possibly important in the prevention of many serious diseases such as cancer.

Probiotics are also known as friendly microflora that help in one’s health. Literally probiotic means “for life,” and is a term used to describe the friendly bacteria and fungi which inhabit both the large and small intestines. There are at least 400 different species of micro-flora that live in the human gastrointestinal tract. There are billions of these helpful microbes that help people stay healthy, amounting to approximately three pounds per adult! Some of the most important of these bacteria are the acidophilus (Lactobacillus acidophilus), which inhabit the small intestine and bifidus (Bifidobacterium bifidum), which inhabit the large intestine.

All of our organs are important, but as you’ll learn in the detoxification section, the colon requires your attention first, because when it doesn’t function properly, it affects the ability of all other organs to function optimally. Because of the daily intake of substances that destroy these microorganisms, it is wisely recommended to have a daily food supplement of these important substances, the acidophilus and bifidus. Substances like alcohol, antibiotics, high meat and fat diets, drugs and even stress are claimed to destroy these microorganisms. The small intestine is involved in the digestion, absorption, and transport of food. After passing through the stomach, food is further broken down in the small intestine; and vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, protein, and fat are absorbed. Microvilli, which are hair-like projections along the wall of the small intestine, perform two important functions: they provide necessary surface area for the absorption of nutrients and they help move food through the small intestine. Acidophilus helps to keep the spaces between the microvilli clear so they can function efficiently. Thus, in maintaining one’s good health, acidophilus helps to promote normal peristalsis (movement of food) through the small intestine.

At the same time, helping people’s state of health, acidophilus plays a role in the prevention of and defense against disease, especially of the gastrointestinal tract and vagina. As part of the “normal flora,” they inhibit the growth of harmful organisms by competing for nutrients, altering the pH to a more acidic level, and shifting oxygen levels to the detriment of pathogens, disease- producing microorganisms. They are also attached to sites otherwise preyed upon by pathogens.

There are other benefits of acidophilus and these include: production of vitamins (which are absorbed into the blood); the synthesis of many B vitamins, including biotin and folic acid; an increase in the absorption of calcium, phosphorus and magnesium; normalization of cholesterol levels in the blood and production of digestive enzymes. Acidophilus also helps maintain bowel regularity. Acidophilus supplements have been shown to help reduce or eliminate intestinal, vaginal and urinary tract infections. Because these friendly bacteria promote healthy intestinal functioning, it has been found to be useful in helping overcome diseases especially affecting the gastrointestinal tract.

It was found out that bifidus helps repopulate the large intestine with friendly bacteria, creating a favorable environment for large intestine health. Bifidus lowers the pH of the intestines, manufactures specific B vitamins, ensures regular bowel movements, and can help stop gas and bloating while promoting proper immune function and overall health. Finally, eating a diet rich in plant foods will help to naturally cultivate a healthy balance of probiotic micro-organisms.

Enzymes are considered the “sparks of life.” They are also found to be helpful to people’s health. Even with appropriate levels of minerals, vitamins, amino acids, water and other nutrients, without enzymes, life ceases to exist. For this reason, they are said to possess life force energy. These energized protein molecules play a necessary role in virtually all biochemical activities. They are required to digest food and to repair cells, tissues and organs. In fact, they regulate and govern all living cells in plants and animals, and are responsible for providing the energy for all biochemical reactions that occur in nature. Fruit ripening, seeds sprouting, flowers blooming and people healing are all examples of enzymatic activity. Enzymes cannot be made from synthetic material sources, as many vitamins and minerals are made.

Enzymes and coenzymes, molecules that help enzymes do their job, work together to either join molecules together or split them apart by making or breaking chemical bonds. Most enzymes are composed of a protein coupled with an essential mineral, and sometimes a vitamin, which act as the co-enzyme.

If it is easy to teach the heart not to love, surely I’ll do so because when love is around, ache is just around the corner and peeing its way out. After all the years I didnt expect that one day Ill gonna loose someone so close to my life. Actually he really is my LIFE. I’m dying. Will I ever survive this tragic? Im trying but still it hurts. I always go out to keep myself busy and forget things for a few hours. I am trying to enjoy life but something is missing. Will the hurt be mended? I dont want to cry but still tears keeps on dashing my eyes. I try to drink a little but the feeling is still there. The memories still emerge to my head. Can I escape it? If so how? Can anybody teach me? I know time may help but can we make the time go fast as fast as nobody can ever imagine. Oh dear, I can no longer breath. For now, the only thing I have in mind is YOU. I pray that your ok. I hope for your happiness dont worry things will be fine for me soon… just take care. For the last time, I Love You!
